Penmaenmawr Sailing Club father and son Glenn and Ieuan Williams win the Clubs annual Open “Puffin Marathon”. Thirteen craft of different abilities took part in the 4 hour challenging endurance race over a course from the Clubs Slipway at Penmaenmawr, round Puffin Island back to Penmaenmawr and then out to the Fairway Buoy and back, a total of some 15 miles, with only six completing the course. Prizes, presentations and thanks to Many Williams for the catering, were made on the club balcony by the Club Commodore Gerry Frobisher who also praised 13 year old club junior Dylan Williams in 6th place, sailing a Topper, who had become the youngest competitor in the clubs history to have completed the race. Visitors from Port Dinorwic Sailing Club came a creditable 2nd.
