SAM PURCOCKS DREAM
He gazed upon the Beach one day,
And in his mind a vision lay,
Of Boats bobbing on the Briny,
Sails & Hulls all a shiny,
A Regatta laughter, enjoyment too,
A Slipway with a Boat and Crew,
A Boat Park built with toil and sweat,
Boats nestling safely behind the net,
Of a Clubhouse warm and inviting,
In which a yarn of Fish that were biting,
A cup of tea, a chunk of cake,
His mind’s made up there’s no mistake,
With his toil his dreams came true,
And lets not forget he built it for you,
Lets fill it with laughter and yarns galore,
And keep it an ever open door.

Poem by Jackie Davies - 1962 (a founder member)

The view from the balcony is fantastic, if the web camera could do a 180 degree image you would get the idea.

The web camera is part of the security system and provides a good view across Penmaenmawr beach towards Llandudno and the Great Orme. In the distance you may see sails of the yachts in the approaches to Conwy River and the Marinas.

The web camera live image is one of the best in North Wales giving a good view of the weather, state of the tide and activity on the beach, very useful for everyone in the village to see what’s going on.

Just out of view to the left is the Club Slipway. For Use of Sailing Club Members and Permanent Residents of Penmaenmawr. All craft must be able to produce current evidence of Insurance. A member of the Conwy Harbour Masters team is on hand during the season. More details here.
