Penmaenmawr Sailing Club’s Community Bonfire & Fireworks Musical Super Show went off with a bang despite the very wet weather, on Saturday the 6th of November. Although umbrellas and raincoats were the order of the day, the Mayor and Mayoress of Penmaenmawr Cllr Harry Jones and Alwena Jones and around 700 people attended and watched the forty-five minute event held at the Club House on the promenade.

Club secretary Glenn Williams said “We were unlucky with the weather, it rained hard all evening. A great big thanks to our sponsors including Penmaenmawr Town Council for their kind sponsorship of the event and all the club members and friends who volunteered their time and efforts during the day and evening”.

The Clubs 2009/10 Junior Captain Alice Frobisher said “The 45 minute Fireworks and Musical Show was really well attended, and I must thank Jim Rothnie of Brimstone Pyrotechnics from Manchester for co-ordinating the placing and setting off of the fireworks. Several hundred pounds was raised which will be put towards the Sailing Clubs Junior Section”.
