Penmaenmawr Sailing Club’s Community bonfire and firework display went off with a bang despite a damp evening. The event cancelled from the 2nd of November due to gale force winds. The event took place on Saturday the 9th instead, with over 500 people in attendance to see an hour long bonfire and fireworks display.
Club Secretary, Glenn Williams, said “we were luckier this time with the weather. It rained and even hailed during the afternoon but all was well for the evening event”.
Club Commodore, Gerhard Weis, said “I would like to give a big thanks you to Penmaenmawr Town Council for their kind sponsorship and the attendance of the Town’s Mayor Cllr Callum Mackay and his Consort Miss Sammy Banwell. I would like to thank all the fifteen Young Dragons/Dreigiau Ifanc, members and friends of the Club who volunteered their time and efforts during the day and evening. Several hundred pounds was raised towards the Clubs’ Youth Training during 2014, which offers fantastic facilities for young people in the area to take up sailing”.
