Penmaenmawr Sailing Club held their annual Open
RNLI Race on Sunday the 21st July, and raised £95.00 for the Conwy Lifeboat Station from the
race registration fees and refreshments. The race in a tough
breeze, saw seven craft and fourteen sailors take part in a course around the
bay off Penmaenmawr to the Penmaenmawr Buoy and back to the Club House start.

Penmaenmawr Sailing Club held their annual Open Day on Saturday
the 6th July. The club opened its door to non-members and thrill
seekers of all ages to experience the thrill of sailing.
Commodore, Gerry Frobisher, said “We enjoyed a full day of sailing
with water based fun for all the family. Club members provided supervised
sailing and refreshments throughout the day. Members and non-members some from
as far as Penygroes and Warrington took part or just watched the activities
during the day with volunteers helping to launch and land the various craft.
The warm and breezy weather was a bonus and the sea conditions really made the
The sailing club launched eight different craft including Picos, a
Wayfarer and a catamaran as well as offering patrol boat rides.
The sailing season takes off at the Easter weekend, with a working party day on Saturday 20th April and if the masts are up and weather permitting some sailing on the Sunday and or Monday. Either way come down to see what’s happening, to give a hand, get your boat wet or for coffee and a chat. Happy Easter!
