Penmaenmawr Sailing Club helped raise £110.00 together with RNLI volunteers Sylvia Howard and Julie Pullon who manned their stall during the day selling RNLI related goods. The Club held their third annual RNLI fundraising open race which saw six craft of very different capabilities. In challenging conditions, the two and a half hour race round a course off Penmaenmawr that included the fairway buoy, saw some very close action. The annual RNLI open race was the brainchild of past junior sailor Tom Warburton who organised the first race as part of his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and presented the prizes and trophy to the winners and runners-up. The vote of thanks was given by the Club Commodore Gerhard Wies.
